On May 18th National Grid held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its new state of the art energy efficient New England corporate office building in Waltham, MA. The company’s 312,000 sq. ft. energy saving workspace is believed to be among the region’s most energy-efficient facilities. The design and sustainable construction of the new facility is intended to earn the building a LEED gold rating. The U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) rating system is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high-performance green buildings.
