As part of a recent renovation of three floors, Copyright Clearance Center (CCC) was in need of a technology retrofit. CCC enhanced client confidentiality through the recent integration of a Qt Sound Masking System, installed and calibrated by DGI. The sound masking system is comprised of three Qt 600 control modules and over 400 sound masking emitters, which allow for precise control over multiple zones on each floor.
DGI recommended integrating CCC’s preexisting telephone system (which provided overhead paging on three of six occupied floors) into working within the Qt Sound Masking System’s architecture. The paging system’s pre-existing wiring was redirected into the sound masking system’s output channel, allowing for broadcast messaging across all six floors of facility space.
Additionally, DGI provided a full suite of design/build structured wiring services, including a Panduit/General Category 6E Information Transport System allowing for data transfer within the renovated space. This new infrastructure supports both voice and data communications, complete with a fiber optic cabling upgrade from 1GB to 10GB across CCC’s six floors. Support and maintenance is accomplished through three additional data distribution spaces located on each newly wired floor, providing discrete storage and added security of data infrastructure.
