Is Your Golf Course Ready for the 2024 Season?

As an official partner of the New England Professional Golf Association (NEPGA) and golf courses across the country, DGI knows the importance of the 2024 golfing season. Golf course owners and employees are excited to once again fill their fairways with golfers and host profitable events. But how can you make sure your property is ready? Let’s look at some tips to prepare for a great season.

Signage matters — especially with COVID rules still in place
Eye-catching signage has always been an important part of every golf season. This includes sponsor logos at tournaments, welcome signs at the course’s entrance and wayfinding signage throughout the property. The goal has always been to help golfers feel welcome and comfortable.

In 2024, additional signage will be critical to ensure that golfers and guests follow mask compliance and social distancing rules, and DGI can help. For example, DGI recently worked with Worcester Country Club in Massachusetts to equip their property with the right signage for an event. From freestanding banners to table tents, attendees knew exactly where to go and how to comply with health and safety rules. DGI is fully equipped to deliver customized solutions to your course and work with you on specific events.

The right technology matters more than ever
After a solid year of adjusting how we interact and communicate, it’s safe to say most people are well acquainted with Zoom and webcams. But did you know that Zoom can also help bring your course to your audience in real time? Imagine this: At your first tournament of the season, you’re able to stream the first tee box to your Facebook page or help a sponsor share it to their social media properties. Seeing that your course is back in action can help your audience know it’s time to dust off the clubs.

Zoom Phone also offers your course an opportunity to modernize your phone system.  Many courses have older phone systems that don’t translate to a mobile-first world.  DGI can recommend a more cost-effective and up-to-date platform as we’ve done with other courses across the country.

Talk to partners now for a season of success
Marketing budgets were hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic, but many sponsors are looking to invest in revenue-driving opportunities. Now is the time to reconnect with sponsors and partners about how to communicate their message out on the links and in the clubhouse. DGI can work with your golf course and any of your partners to design signage and outreach that resonates.

Visit DGI’s headquarters and play Pebble Beach
To reinforce their commitment to the golf community, DGI recently installed a state-of-the-art golf simulator at its home base in Billerica, Mass. The Golf Club (TGC) 2019 offer virtual experiences of some of the finest courses in the world, rain or shine. All NEPGA and PGA member courses are invited to schedule a time to visit DGI to play some great courses and discuss ways to have a successful season in 2024.

While many courses were able to salvage their 2021 season, owners and employees are looking to 2024 to be a bounce-back year for revenue, attendance and engagement. With the right messaging, signage and technology from DGI, your course can have its best year yet! Contact us to schedule a visit or to talk about how we can help.
