Installation Technician – Level 3

Job Summary:

The Level 3 Installation Technician collaborates as part of a team to ensure precise adherence to project specifications, offering customers the highest level of service. This role involves interaction with Operations, Engineering, and Customers to achieve all established goals and objectives. In the capacity of Install Technician Level 3, responsibilities encompass configuring, installing, testing, and troubleshooting various audio-visual systems, as well as providing leadership to Level 1 Technicians. Furthermore, this role is crucial in preparing systems for Field Engineering.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Execute all functions of an Installation Technician at Levels 1 and 2.
  • Oversee and coordinate tasks for the team based on the installation schedule.
  • Conduct a comprehensive review of the job site and promptly communicate any challenges to the Project Manager and the relevant parties.
  • Proficiently solder dense connectors.
  • Mount and align projectors with precision.
  • Perform the final installation of AV racks and strategically plan and hang AV substructures.
  • Demonstrate creative problem-solving to overcome challenges.
  • Effectively manage a sizable team of Technicians by recognizing their strengths and utilizing them onsite.
  • Attend weekly construction meetings onsite and express jobsite requirements.
  • Submit daily reports to the DGI Project Manager via Teams.
  • Understand rigging, particularly in relation to flown speakers, and the significance of PE stamping.
  • Safely handle and utilize lifts as needed.
  • Skillfully manage the delivery and assembly of scaffolding, complete with the required harnesses and safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager in filling out onsite safety documents, including JHA’s (Job Hazard Analyses).
  • Conduct preliminary testing of audio, video, and control pathways.
  • Prepare testing reports for the Field Engineer.
  • Handle and terminate fiber optics proficiently.

Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements:

  • Maintaining composure in high-pressure situations

  • Performing tasks that involve standing, walking, sitting, and manual dexterity.
  • Occasionally handling light objects
  • Engaging in activities that require reaching, grasping, and carrying.
  • Adapting to varying noise levels in the work environment, ranging from moderate to periodically high
  • Being prepared for occasional outdoor tasks, with exposure to seasonal temperature variations, despite most work occurring indoors.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in multitasking.
  • Effective planning, organization, and implementation skills for timely project completion.
  • Ability to remain composed in high-pressure situations.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting AV drawings.
  • A minimum of 3-4 years of Field Installation experience is required.

 

Travel:

Daily commuting to job sites with occasional travel beyond the headquarters’ territory for projects and training.
